I started this book with a single, honest premise: a car accident settlement is a number that gets built, not one you can look up. Built from economic damages that can be proven with a bill or a pay stub. Built from non-economic damages that have to be proven a harder way, through testimony and a documented before-and-after. Built from medical records that establish causation and anchor every dollar that follows. And built, or in some cases quietly reduced, by fault percentages and insurance policy limits that have nothing to do with how much an injury hurts.

The talks behind this book, recorded on my Fort Worth Accident Attorney & Law podcast, kept circling back to one idea in different forms. Records turn a real injury into a provable one. A provable injury is the only kind an insurer will pay for. That idea runs through every chapter of this book, from the first hour after a crash all the way through what happens after a settlement is signed.

If there's a single thing worth carrying forward from all twelve chapters, it's this: the insurer already knows how this process works before an injured person's phone even rings. I wrote this book to close that gap, so that the next call, the one where a number gets offered and a decision has to be made, happens with the same details on both sides of the table.

You can read what past clients say about working with my firm before making that decision. If you or someone you love has been hurt in a crash in Fort Worth, Euless, Houston, or anywhere else in Texas, reach out for a free, no-obligation case evaluation before you accept a number the insurance company chose for you.
